  • Gameplay can run at up to 60 FPS.
  • Recovered master-source FMVs are integrated, with standard, high-resolution, and optional upscaled modes.
  • The full rock soundtrack was relicensed, and songs can now play during races.
  • Native Xbox and PlayStation controller support, vibration, windowed mode, and cloud saves were added.
  • The original game structure, manual saving, visual style, and legacy LAN code remain.

How EA restored the release

EA says the Road Rash PC source code was recovered around the same time that master FMV tapes were digitized from the company’s physical media vault. Technical Director Brian Barnes adapted the original game for modern PCs, while EA’s music team spent more than a year relicensing 14 songs across seven bands.
